Mouse randomly freezes for a second, hidd process spikes during freeze

Does anyone know a fix for this issue? I am on Sierra, with the following build (pretty basic secondary hackintosh setup). USB Mouse and Keyboard - Keyboard works fine, Mouse intermittently freezes while HIDD spikes in Activity Monitor.

• Asus P8z77v-LK, i5-3750k

• Intel HD4000 Graphics (no external card)
