can't install High Sierra

alright so after my rant yesterday, High Sierra GM got released... so right now i'm trying to clean install High Sierra from USB (used BootDiskUtility and extracted files from HighSierra.app on Windows)

however, after selecting the language, the installer came up with an error message "The path /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged." i have Sierra 10.12.6 installed on my SSD, not sure if i should delete the Sierra partition first before booting the installer?

i have clover r4200 on it, with both apfs.efi and HFSPlus.efi in drivers64UEFI folder (along with other drivers). i also have FakeSMC, IntelMausiEthernet, RealtekRTL8111, VoodooPS2Controller and VoodooTSCSync kext. the config.plist was from the working Sierra, with only platform id modified to invalid to get HS booting.

should i rebuild the installer from scratch using macOS instead? i am stupid thinking High Sierra installation files could be extracted just like Sierra haha.

here is the error screen

here is the verbose boot screen right after clicking restart
