Hi everyone,
I’ve owned an iMac (mid-2011) for a while and it died during the install of Mojave. I don’t know why, it just could not be salvaged. Believe me, I tried. It sucks that the price of fixing it is as expensive as getting a whole new and better desktop replacement. So, I bit the bullet and built myself a computer.
I have also been a long time lurker here and at other websites of the Hackintosh community and I thought I would ask you for your recommendations and help.
This is the system I would like to Hackintosh:
CPU: 8700k
MB: Aorus Master Z390
RAM: G Skill Rip Jaws V 3200 Mhz
GPU: Radeon RX Vega 64 Strix 8GB Ram OC
Memory: Samsung 970 Pro NVME M.2
My first question to you would be regarding the status of fully functioning versions of Hackintosh for Z390 motherboards: is Mojave working on Z390’s or if I want a fully functional system I should stick to High Sierra? I really make use of iMessage and download my purchases from the App Store and use microphone/audio extensively.
Second, how do we get the serial numbers for the install? I didn’t write down my dead iMac’s number before its demise. How do you work around it?
Third, I got a Vega 64 but most builds I’ve read are 480 and others. Will I experience compatibility issues?
What are your thought based on my system and needs? High Sierra or wait for developments on Mojave? What are some things I should consider, mistakes not to make?
Thank you!
