Time Machine restore

Sorry to ask this again if it has already been asked . I would like to know if there is a correct procedure for restoring a Time Machine back up to a fresh install of OCLP sonoma? I would have a copy of OCLP patcher on the back up so when restoring it would it cause a conflict ? Is there a best practice ? Migration assistant ? Thoughts appreciated. Thanks
