So I wanted to try and update my 15” retina from mid 2012 to Ventura. Tried a lot of things but it always kept booting to recovery mode without the option to install Ventura. Eventually I found a post of someone saying that FileVault was the issue. So I turned off FileVault, waited 5 hours for everything to decrypt and tried again. Immediate success! Process was painless and it’s running very well. Did do a clean install but it feels faster than my old Catalina install.
Just wanted to post this so someone else doing this can figure it out faster :).
