Just bought a new 1070Ti, what steps do I need to take before I install it?

As the title says, I just bought a 1070Ti recently, and am intending to install it onto my Mac. I understand that I need the Nvidia drivers to be in the EFI partition before I install it, but is anything else required?

I am currently running a MSI Z270A-Pro with an i5-7600K, and integrated graphics. macOS 10.13.3.

Also, on a side note here, is it better to update to 10.13.6 before installing?
