My first hackintosh finished

Hello everyone I just want to share my successful adventure on building my first hackintosh.

Thanks a lot for the folks maintaining https://www.tonymacx86.com and the folks that helped on this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/ad0s4o/help_on_building_my_first_hackintosh/

As a newbie, my spec was really straight forward without any issues at all (thanks to the folks from the previous thread since I was thinking on getting 1080ti)

After being on an iMac for almost 5 years hating every day I turned it on, I have to say that this is one of the happiest moment, no more waiting for a simple Finder window to respond to my click.

Notes from my stupidity for newbies:

  1. Don't forget to format your drives before trying to install the OS, since the guide mentioned later on I missed it and I had to figure out why wasn't showing up in the installation step.
  2. For some unknown reason I didn't turn off VT-D from the BIOS since I saw somebody else doing the same with the exact motherboard that I have, no clue what is the implication of this but do not get cut out on this detail.

Anyway, I guess I will never go back to a regular iMac in my life, the only thing I missing even with a $500 monitors is the actual 5K resolution and sharpness of the iMac, as somebody that expend the hole day with code, I really really love iMac when it comes to the monitor, but extra $ will do the trick :D

Anyway, probably I will stick around since the adventure actually starts :D

My Spec:

OS: Mojave

Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008B6ONXA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I actually hate this case, too small and the cable management is a mess, I ended up moving most of the cables to the front of the case so I don't have to deal with sealing the back, I recommend you to buy something else with this spec. I don't like it.

Motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077R97JPN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 no issues at all.

Graphics Card: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wifi Adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLK9ZNQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Worth to mention that the motherboard has integrated Wifi but for the extra bucks, I preferred to get an external especially that it is faster and I can swap the motherboard without worrying about this feature (personal preferences). Also once again, thanks a lot for the folks from the thread that helped me to switch to Fenvi, no issues at all and straight forward.

Power supply: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YPNSQTU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1

SSD: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078DPCY3T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got two of these since I want to install Windows on the other one, so far, really responsive.

Memory: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HPBV5RT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1

CPU Cooler: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079NXZQBC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 so far, the system is running in a average temperature, worth to mention that I live in California so the weather here helps for sure.

CPU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07598VZR8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
