update advice

Hi i need some advice

I got my machine as you can see in my status. Its running
and its been working fine.

I would like to get the OS version up to date but I'm unsure of how to proceed..
Do I just update fully natively? or what methods should I use?

can someone just let me know all the precautions I should be aware of when updating?
