Hi guys, I have been running Sierra on my build which has worked beautifully for over a year and a half.
Since January I have been having a problem with incredibly slow startup times.
The screen stays at the Bios logo for 45 to 60 minutes, then, crazily, it loads clover, and goes to the desktop.
All other hackintosh functions are fine after this.
To date I have tried the following:
1)Remove all but Ram sticks(but one), hard drives and peripherals.THis made not difference to the long boot up and heating.
2)Use a disc with Windows 10, and another with Ubuntu on it.The results are the same. They boot and function fine after 45 to 60 minutes.
3)I updated the BIOS using q flash, then again using @BIOS on windows. The BIOS successfully updated, but the behaviour remained the same.
All lights and warnings seem to be normal.
The only other thing strange is that the CPU is really hot during boot up.
I use a Radiator as a CPU cooler and it is seriously hot to the touch.
Something is causing it to super heat during boot up.
The really frustrating thing is that it takes a 90 minute round trip to even try anything, (ie install a new disk, try to boot up, takes an hour so it hasn't worked, then dismantle and start again.)
I feel now like maybe just replacing the Motherboard and starting afresh.
But what if the problem is with the CPU?
What are your recommendations for troubleshooting BIOS and heating problems like this?
Here is my set up:

GIGABYTE GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming
Intel i7 Quad core CPU 7700
