With the help of the people at AMD OSX, I was able to get my pc to dual boot into Mac OSX Sierra on a Ryzen CPU.
At this point, the booting of Sierra is stable. However, I'm having some performance issues I was hoping I could get some help with.
My current specs are (Keep in mind this is a dual-boot. I never intended for it to be solely hackintosh);
- Motherboard: GA-AB350-Gaming 3
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700x
- GPU: STRIX GTX 1070
I have 1 SSD for Windows, and 1 SSD for mac. They are both separate and have nothing else on them except the OS and programs, etc...
So, here are the problems I was hoping to get assistance with;
Question 1:
Currently using clover bootloader and want to use it as my default bootloader. When starting the PC, Clover lists all partitions except my Windows one. It lists;
- macOS
- System Reserved
- My 2TB drive for storage
- A partition that I can select but has a blank name.
The only partition that works on selection is macOS, the rest just sit at a black screen with a blinking cursor. Only way to boot into Windows is to do it via BIOS. How can I make my windows partition appear on there, and then how can I remove those additional partitions so there is only macOS and Windows available from the menu?
Question 2:
Getting some very odd audio cutout/skipping even though I've installed the drivers/kexts. According to the sales page, my Motherboard uses the audio driver; "ALC1220". I have installed this, and yet the audio is still not remotely possible to listen to.
Question 3:
Performance on the OS is shaky. I've installed the nvidia web drivers and that helped significantly, but it still quite laggy/jumpy from time to time. Is this just my specific setup? Or is this just a general Hackintosh thing?
I only intend to use the OS for Web Development and GFX work via Sketch, so the performance doesn't have to be 100%, just enough to run those as best as possible.
Hopefully my questions make sense and I can get some assistance with them. If you need any additional information from me, feel free to ask and I'll get back to you. :)
