I've had a hackintosh running for about five years, which I upgraded through the various OS versions. I installed High Sierra recently, with pretty good results apart from the computer periodically freezing up completely, necessitating a reboot.
Tonight I thought I'd de-overclock the computer to see if that helped with the freezes, but found the BIOS asking for a password. I didn't remember setting a password, so I pulled the CMOS battery to reset it.
I've reset the BIOS configuration as best I can remember. Unfortunately, now High Sierra isn't booting. It is freezing at [ PCI configuration begin ].
The motherboard is a GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3. The CPU is an i7 2600K. The GPU is a EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3MB which was working well with the new web drivers.
Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I just ordered a 4K monitor to use with this computer, so I'd like to get it booting again ASAP. Thanks!
