[High Sierra] Fix for IOConsoleUsers boot loop after update

You just updated your High Sierra installation to the latest version for better security and stuff, BUT now your hack is getting stuck at IOConsoleUsers!

Fear not! There is a solution!

Boot into Clover and go to Options, type in nv_disable=1 -v as boot arguments. Now go to Graphics Injector and uncheck Use Nvidia Web Drivers. After you've done this, boot into Recovery.

You should see all your verbose output race by and after that, the text should fade out and an apple logo should fade in. You're now in recovery!

Open Terminal and enter the following, pressing enter after every line:

  • cd /Volumes/yourdiskname/Library/Extensions
  • rm -rf NV*
  • rm -rf GeForce*
  • kextcache -i /Volumes/yourdiskname

Use /yourdisk\ name/ if your disk has a space in its name.

Now reboot and try to boot into your macOS High Sierra install with nv_disable=1 as boot argument and unchecking Use Nvidia Web Drivers in Graphics Injector.

After that, install the latest web drivers

Reboot, you should now have everything working!
