help! can't boot anymore

i have just installed macos high sierra and restored from my time machine backup. just like before i didn't have my imessage working out of the fresh install. and i went into tonymacx website to use the imessage fix guide and i finished making change to the config file and saved but it said - "the document config.plist is on a volume that does not support permanent version storage" i just clicked ok and restarted the computer. now it wont boot and its at just showing the apple boot logo after the clover screen I don't know what that message meant and don't know how to fix it.
