How to upgrade GPU?

Hi there,

I have a 100% working 10.13.1 machine with a 970 GTX using Nvidia webdrivers. I'm willing to upgrade to a Pascal GPU. How do you propose I do that? Is simply replacing the GPU and booting the machine enough?
