I post this in case somebody is struggling from the same issue.
After I upgraded my (flawless) Sierra installation to High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D102) , I had to update Nvidia driver also... As it turned out the newest Nvidia driver has performance issues, and after a few hours of research I found the solution to my problem this repo.
