I am looking to create a hackintosh out of some of the older Desktops and laptops I have laying around my house, but I thought I would start here with a HP 500-590.
Specs: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04559215
Motherboard •Manufacturer: Pegatron •Form factor: uATX - 24.4x24.4 cm (9.6x9.6 in) •Chipset: Intel H87 •Memory sockets: 2 x DDR3 •Processor socket: LGA 1150 •Expansion Slots: •1 PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0) •1 PCI Express x1 (Gen 2.0) •Half-Length Mini Card
CPU: Intel Core i3 4130 •TDP: 54W •Operating speed: Up to 3.4 GHz •Number of cores: 2 •Socket: LGA 1150
Rest I believe is trivial. The memory works and hard drive works fine. I am actually posting from the PC right now using Windows 7. I have the USB Drive created, and I have tried to install 10.13 on the device, but basically what happens is I will load from the usb, get into clover, select boot, the logo shows up and then the PC restarts itself. Now I have been told before that it's possible that the HP motherboard just don't work correctly. I have also been told that it's all about the chipset per say; ie. H87 should work. I am willing to change out the motherboard of course, but I would need some suggestions if that is the cause of my problems. Thank you all for your help and support. let me know if you need anymore information as I can provide more if needed.
