Hello everyone,
I recently saw Snazzy Labs' video where he pretty much made a mini "Mac Mini" using an 8th gen Intel NUC, but he mentioned that the soldered-on wireless card was not compatible with macOS, and therefore having to use either a wired connection or a USB dongle. The problem is, in wither case AirDrop and Handoff will not work.
The thing is, he used the K version of the NUC, which only has an m.2 M-key slot, but there's also the H variant, which is slightly taller but also has room for a standard SATA drive. As I have been looking to making my first hackintosh, but don't have too much space to accomodate anything too big, I thought the NUC would be an excellent idea.
I tried to look if someone had already tried to use the m.2 slot on the taller version to plug in a macOS compatible wireless card, and having the drive in the SATA slot, but so far I only found people asking but no answers. My guess is they didn't try or it simply didn't work.
I've come up with two possible solutions, but I don't know if any of these would work, so I'd like to get some help.
Solution nº1: m.2 M-key to A/E-key adapter + BCM94352Z wireless card
Solution nº2: m.2 M-key to mPCI adapter + BCM94360CS2 wireless card
So, would any of these solutions allow me to have built-in wireless connectivity + AirDrop? Of course I would have to disable the Intel wireless card.
Thanks!
