Hello all,
I am a total newb to the hackintosh scene and have decided to take the plunge after my trusted 2009 Quad-core burned out a few months back. I used that machine almost 24/7 since I bought it new, and would render 3D for months at a time... and run my home media server on it as well. Hoping to build something I can use daily, run CC, Maya, stream media etc.
It seems the vanilla installation process is the way to go, wondering if I can attempt this with a cloned OSX HD?
Here is my build list, wondering if anyone has any better suggestions? I just want a case that can hold at least 3 HDD's and 2 SDD's so I can keep my storage from my burned out mac pro.
- Z370 Aorus ATX MB
- Core i7
- Thermaltake View 32 Case
- Sapphire RX 580
- TP-Link Archer PCIE WiFi
- Corsair RMX650x PS
- Dual EVO 500GB SSD for dual boot
- 16GB DDR4 Ballistix Sport LT RAM
- Thermaltake Slim X3 CPU fan
Trying to keep my build under $1500 or so... since that is what a used 6 core trash can is going for these days... but open to suggestions.
Thanks all! I haven't built my own PC since the early Pentium days so I am stoked and terrified at the same time.
