I'm having a pretty frustrating problem on my current build, which consists of: Maximus X Hero, BIOS 1704 i9-9900K Sapphire Vega 64 Mojave 10.14.2 Everything's running well, including iGPU hardware acceleration. But the issue is with the Asus BIOS. In order to activate the iGPU, I have to enable multi-monitor under system agent configuration. However, unlike previous BIOS's, there is no longer any option to select a primary display. This wouldn't be a big deal if BIOS would automatically select the PEG since my monitor(s) are connected to the Vega. However, this is not the behavior it exhibits. Once multi-monitor is enabled, the BIOS defaults to the internal graphics as the primary display, with no ability to change it. As a result I cannot enter BIOS, see POST, or even access the clover bootloader screen. Everything works once Mojave is booted, but I have no display prior. If I plug a secondary display into the motherboard graphics, I can see POST, BIOS, etc, but Mojave will reboot upon entering the OS, probably because I have a iMac 18,3 symbios and have configured the iGPU to be headless. If I could just set the primary display to PEG (like I've done in all my past builds) I believe this would solve these issues. I have attached a few screenshots to show the lack of "Primary Display" option in BIOS. Any one else have these issues? I have noted a few other posts, and they all seem to be related to the use of the 9900K and the most recent ASUS BIOS's in which the option to set the primary display is now removed. Has anyone come up with any solutions? I have tried swapping in my other AMD cards with no improvement. [link] [comments] |
