My USB installer of High Sierra fails with a kernel panic on my newly built PC. The PC posts and I installed and used Windows 10 on it after giving up on Hackintosh. Now I want to work on getting Mac OS X working.
- Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2666 in DDR4_1 (on the QVL)
- Intel 8700K with Hyper 212 cooler (checked in BIOS, CPU runs cool)
- XFX Fatboy RX 590 (HDMI out to 27", DVI out to 24")
- HP EX920 M.2 PCIe NVME 256GB in M2M_32G (on the QVL)
- Dogfish M.2 SATA 256GB in M2A_32G (not on the QVL; Windows boot)
- Intel Optane M.2 PCie 32GB in M2P_32G
- no other devices in PCI or SATA connectors
I followed this guide for the same mobo/CPU/OS combo: https://hackintosher.com/builds/gigabyte-z370-aorus-gaming-7-hackintosh-build-guide/
...and its related High Sierra guide: https://hackintosher.com/guides/high-sierra-install-full-guide/
...while also referencing the reddit Hackintosh vanilla guide. I made the available BIOS changes. After continued install failures, I made some kext and plist changes but ultimately got nowhere.
I used Clover r4871.
Here are my kexts in Other:
- FakeSMC.kext
- AppleALC.kext
- AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext
- CodecCommander.kext
- IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
- IntelMausiEthernet.kext
- Lilu.kext
- SmallTreeIntel82576.kext
- USBInjectAll.kext
- XHCI-300-series-injector.kext
Here are my efis in drivers64UEFI:
- OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi
- apfs.efi
- ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi
- AppleImageCodec-64.efi
- AppleKeyAggregator-64.efi
- AppleUITheme-64.efi
- DataHubDxe-64.efi
- FirmwareVolume-64.efi
- FSInject-64.efi
- PartitionDxe-64.efi
- SMCHelper-64.efi
- VBoxHfs-64.efi
My plist is too long to paste and I can't attach it. I'm willing to put it on Google drive or something if the efis and kexts check out.
I can't install Mojave because my working Mac is an old Mac Mini and High Sierra is the latest the Apple store will let me download for creating the USB installer.
Thanks for helping.
