Intermittent "freezes"

Hi!

I did a vanilla Mojave install according to the vanilla guide (edited config.plist in Textmate and used linked kexts) and everything works fine (very smooth and fast for a 7 year old computer) exept that:

sometimes the computer (almost) freezes: it gets so slow that you can not use it. The graphics gets very slow (even the clock will not update), the mouse reacts with extreme latency (unusable) and the music from Spotify continues until the song playing finishes and then the music pauses. This goes on for 5 to 10 minutes afterwards it's back to normal, like nothing happended.

When I checked system.log at the relevant times there was a lot of:

... com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.mdworker.shared.06000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000): Service only ran for 9 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 1 seconds.

I've searched and found very little that seems relevant to my box. So

  • what should I try?
  • what should I search for?

Any pointers or suggestions are much appreciated!

Facts:

** System: CPU: i7-3770S (Ivy Bridge) Chipset: Intel H61 Express Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Audio: ALC662 chipset Ethernet: RealtekRTL8111 (No Wifi and BT works without anything.) It's an Ivy Bridge CPU with a 6-series motherboard so I added <key>FakeID</key> <dict> <key>IMEI</key> <string>0x1e3a8086</string> </dict> in config.plist. Other than that I only changed serials etc., layout for Audio and removed older versions (10.12 and 10.13). ** Kexts: Used the following kexts in "other": AppleALC.kext (Audio) RealtekRTL8111.kext (Ethernet) VirtualSMC.kext (Boot) Lilu.kext (Audio and graphics) USBInjectAll.kext (USB) WhateverGreen.kext (Graphics)
