How to disable the lines of code at boot and shutdown?

When booting a long list of code gets generated for a couple seconds then it switches to the apple loading screen. Even on the shutdown a couple linesnof code appear (the loading circle doesnt even show up).

Is there a way to hide this and just show a plain black screen? On my High Sierra built I never saw this when booting.
