Hello all! I've been scouring the internet, booting and rebooting, and finally have my hackintosh all running! I tried to hold out asking for help from the community for as long as possible to not add to the low effort "help me" posts, but this one i feel warrant's some discussion.
Currently, I'm too far away from my router to ethernet it, So i have my macbook sharing it's wifi connection, with ethernet plugged into it and my hackintosh..... it sucks but it works lol. So i've been diving into the surprisingly fickle world of hackintosh network cards. I've reviewed the FAQs that talk about this and found some sketchy looking sellers on amazon selling adapters, which means i'd have to find an m2 card that fits in it with the right chipset. I get how this all works, it just seems hella sketchy. Is there any reputable sellers or products hackintoshers go too? Or do i just have to try my luck?
My biggest question here is, can I avoid the route mentioned above? Do any regular network cards on the market work reliably or use the broadcom chip? Would I be better off just getting a WIFI extender with an ethernet port and bridging it like that? It's worth mentioning i don't really care about bluetooth... if i have to sacrifice that i will.
I'd love to hear your experience with getting WIFI working!
