I had Mojave running on my hp laptop flawlessly until I decided to update the bios and tried to install catalina. Catalina update has issues such as wifi showing up late and battery indicator not working so I restored the mojave using CCC.
Now it appears that new bios does not agree with macos and I am having hard time trying to make the sleep work. I reinstalled mojave to have a clean slate but no cigar. When I select sleep option from the apple menu from top left, the screen goes blank and after a few seconds power led start blinking which makes me think that OS has gone to sleep state. When I click the power button again after a minute or two, power button led turns solid, the screen does not turn on, the fans runs after a few seconds but nothing happens. The caps lock led is also unresponsive. I have to hard reset the system as this time.

I added ACPIDebug kext and debug logs in the DSDT to identify the method calls. I see that _INI method is called when system boots but _PTS is not called or (logged?) when system goes to sleep and no _WAK method logs are present in the logs either.
