Which parts I had challenges with:

Figuring out how git works. Branching to master rather than the experimental on the AMD_Vanilla patches had me spending a whole day trying to get my machine to boot with the old patches. I kept getting stuck on [EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START]

config.plist/kext/driver management. I actually set up my own git repo to keep track of all my different settings runs (link below).

What files/config I am using: https://github.com/FlamerNZ/OpenCoreConfigs/tree/Big-Sur-0.6.0

Built using SSDTs from https://github.com/aluveitie/RyzenMacPro

Extra Info: [Add something you need to point out about your setup]

I highly recommend installing Catalina first before attempting Big Sur. I learned _so_ much during the Catalina install phase that was really helpful for debugging the Big Sur install.

I splashed out for the Apple Developer account to download Big Sur (on my Catalina install). I think this is fair enough considering I’m not spending money on their hardware to use their OS.

ASRock BIOS update 3.00 (which I tested out after Big Sur was booting) only seems to work with Windows, so I had to roll back to 2.60 to get Mac/OL/Ubuntu to boot.

Next up:

- attempting to compile/load the Ryzen and Radeon kexts

- solve occasional monitor blank screen on boot, probably related to above

- customizing OpenCanopy bootpicker with icons for Oracle Linux and Ubuntu

- compiling and installing OpenCore RELEASE 0.6.0

- solve sleep issues, currently it wakes itself up

- solve issues with switching back and forth to it with my KVM, probably related to the above

- get VirtualBox to run
