Graphics card and monitor not handshaking to show bios screen

Hi, all. So I have a problem. I can't see my bios screen. I can see the 'hit F2 or delete to enter bios', but once that comes up, if I hit those keys I get a blank screen. I'm using an Asus x570 tuf gaming plus with a 5500xt graphics card, connected to a 3440x1440 monitor by display port and a 2560x1440 by HDMI. Apparently the bios needs to handshake at a default 1280x1024

I've tried using just one monitor, dropping display port to 1.1 instead of 1.2, changing HDMI from 2.0 to 1.2, switching cables between the 2 monitors...I'm kind of running out of ideas. Do I need to get a third monitor that isnt so many pixels to force them to handshake?

It boots into both mac and windows OS fine, its just getting into bios that I can't do.
