Is it normal for first usb boot to take a very long time?

I’m using dortinas open core guide and it does boot not to the Apple logo but the shell where it spits all of its processes and it hangs on some last part of the process, it’s not anything specific as far as I can see. I’m thinking this is because I’m using usb 2. If you need any info like my plist file or kext files.
