Mouse and keyboard keep randomly disconnecting on iMac early 2008

I recently upgraded my Mac(early 2008, 20 inch) to MacOS Monterey, and I use a wired keyboard and an HP wireless mouse(with dongle). It all works fine on log in screen, but when I log in after 15 seconds they randomly disconnect. I tried replugging them and changing the USB ports, but nothing works
