I’ve installed Monterey and Ventura dozens of times through OCLP with only minor issues. However recently on my 2011 15 inch MacBook Pro when I do I fresh install of macOS Monterey the install process goes fine, then on the final reboot before it takes me to the setup page the screen goes black instead of booting. The MacBook is on, the OS has been installed, and the keyboard backlight is even lit up as it would be when the OS setup begins normally. I’ve left it ok for hours, I’ve re-installed it multiple times, I’ve tried installing an older OS and then upgrading instead of fresh installing and nothing seems to work. Is this a problem with the discrete graphics? One have the amd card and the other has the nvidia option from that year I forgot the exact models of either. Is there any way to manually switch the graphics to integrated without being able to access the OS? Is there anyone else that has has this issue? I have reset SMC, and nvram multiple times on both and nothing. Both devices work fine on older OS but nothing current. Should I try Venture? Any help at all would be appreciated this has been a massive headache.
