Will the Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus-13 work?

So I've been reading the tonymacx forums and every post where someone asks 'will it work', the answer seems to be, "follow this guide". The guides seem to link to each other and it all becomes cyclical and a little confusing. So I'm hoping to find a clearer answer here.

My wife currently has a macbook that's almost a decade old and it's pretty much come non-functional now. She wants something light, no more than 3lbs.

I'm looking into buying the Lenovo IdeaPad 710S, Model#80W3004MUS. This laptop is 2.71 lbs.

Now, I understand that you can't tell what will and what won't work until you have the laptop in hand to find out what hardware is installed in it. And I realise I might have to change the wifi chip.

What I'd like to know is what I might expect to work or not work given the information below.
