I have been tweaking my VM to improve bugs and performance and thus far, it's going pretty well. I have full graphics passthrough with my 1080Ti outputting to my 5K monitor and half decent desktop performance.
One of my main issues is with the Nvidia driver which is somewhat sluggish at accelerating the desktop for some reason. Apparently they aren't very good on OS X.
I was wondering if maybe by fiddling the SMBios, I might be able to get native Nvidia support. The issue is, I'm using a Pascal card, and there are no machines that have a Pascal card natively.
In addition to this, I'm using iMac 10,1 at the moment since that's what my config came with, but I'm not sure if it's a requirement to run the VM. There is some hack that requires the system to identify as "Penryn" which is a Core 2 part.
Am I likely to encounter massive issues if I change the SMBIOS?
