Installation problem / slow / errors

I'm installing a Hackintosh for the GF as her Macbook Pro died

I've built a PC with the following - all parts appear supported

  • Intel i5-8400
  • MSI H370M - Bazooka
  • 16 GB (2x8GB) DDR4 RAM
  • Samsung 970 Evo 500GB NVMe SSD
  • AMD Raedon RX560 4GB
  • Corsair 430W PSU

I'm booting using a Kingston DataTraveler 100 16GB stick - made using UniBeast 8.3.2 with High Sierra on an iMac (at her Dad's 7 miles away) options chosen were UEFI only (As RX560 shouldn't need AMD injection?)

Using the USB 2.0 as well as tried USB 3.1 port

Having random errors

  • Hangs
  • One boot got to select language screen - KB/Mouse non responsive
  • error allocating pages
  • using -no-zp get past that then No Entry sign
  • tried using stick I made with legacy/Nvidia failed (probably Nvidia?)
  • Tried SMBIOS 14,2 -> 17,1
  • CPUID fix
  • Updated BIOS to 7b24v11

I'm also building onto an Old PC of mine

  • Intel i5-3570
  • Gigabyte M/B GA-H61MA-D2V
  • Corsair 120GB SSD

The older unit boots way faster and is way more responsive
