The real vanilla?

There are three definitions of vanilla I am aware of:

  1. Install everything by urself and don‘t use tools like multibeast. A build is vanilla if you understand what you did and did it by yourself (and if required know how to fix issues).

  2. A build is vanilla if you install kexts where macOS would do it (e.g. /L/E or /S/L/E) and the EFI partition contains really only the leanest content with what you can get your OS booting.

  3. Everything is put to the EFI partition. Leave the macOS installation as untouched as possible. If you clone your macOS partition (not the EFI) to a real MAC it would run.

So what is the true vanilla? How does your systems look?
