So I'm using Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my main disk where macOS is installed to a second SSD, so I have a safe boot copy and can mess around with SSD 1. My steps:
- Format the SSD 2 as Mac OS Extended (journaled)
- Clone SSD 1 to SSD 2 with Carbon Copy Cloner
- Start Clover EFI Bootloader to set up SSD 2 (using exact same settings as I did on SSD 1)
- Open mounted EFI, replace the complete folder with the EFI from SSD 1 (config.plist, kexts, etc.)
- In config.plist I only edit the Default Boot Volume to the same name as SSD 2 has
- Reboot (without SSD 1)
Problem now: In the Clover Bootloader I can't choose anything to boot from + the theme is different which I find quite strange as I literally copy pasted the EFI folder from SSD 1 to SSD 2.
What am I missing? I did this already once a few days ago using Multibeast to set up EFI on SSD 2 and that worked just fine, but I wanted to set up my hackintosh from scratch without using Unibeast/Multibeast.
Any help and advice is highly welcome!
