Its rock stable and very responsive.
Really nothing special done. I went to a forum and found an EFI that matched my hardware w/ proper boot flags and it was smooth sailing with the Mojave installer. I may have added little patches here and there, but all of my essential HW was detected. I originally had an Nvidia 1070, but downgraded to an AMD RX 580 (after Mojave install) then finally caught a Black Friday deal on the rx Vega 64 for $399, that was bliss!

I'm very please with MacOS as an OS as a desktop. Man if if there was an Overwatch or No Man Sky port to MacOS
I would not even boot into MS Windows, but dang! I need my VR fix every now and then :|
