Thin ITX motherboard support?

I'm completely in love with this case: https://luna-design.org/dnk-h

The issue here is that this case ONLY supports THIN ITX motherboards. I haven't heard anything about compatibility for them, and I'd be looking at getting a coffee lake 8600 or 8700 NON-K CPU to put inside (both are 65watts TDP). I've managed to find coffee lake thin ITX boards but they basically seem to be from no name companies or small companies. I've found one or two from ASUS that just outrageous expensive.

Do you think it's worth it to try and a thin ITX board over say, a Z370 board? Most of those have a huge amount of support for macOS now, so I'd prefer whatever is easier, but if it doesn't matter and they'd be mostly the same effort, I'll just do the thin ITX.
