So I've tried High Sierra and Mojave (10.14.3) on my X220 and one thing always stayed the same - nothing is able to change the microphone volume. It's absurdly loud at 100% and the slider in System Preferences does not change it at all, also programs like Telegram can't manage to lower the volume either. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to fix it?
