Hi everyone,
I just got a ThinkPad X250 recently. It's the model with the 1080p touchscreen and the i7 5600U processor. That's the HD5500 graphics as well.
I was hoping due to the popularity of the X-series the Hackintoshing experience would be pretty simple. Indeed, there are guides, I'm following this one since it is pretty recent and is meant to install Mojave. I understand that the WiFi will not work out of the box, but frankly I'd like to make sure I have things running well enough to justify putting money in before I buy a new card.
After resetting the BIOS to factory settings and applying the necessary changes, I attempted to boot the installer and got stuck at the Apple logo. Sometimes it was just the logo, other times the loading bar would be about 3/4 of the way across. Turning on verbose mode shows me that this is the point where it gets stuck, just a few seconds into booting.
I've tried messing with a few other kexts and following a few other tutorials but they all end in similar ways.
I'm pretty technical, I'm a software engineer and know my way around Windows and Linux internals. I have a good understanding of EFI as well, but I'm somewhat out of my element when it comes to Hackintosh. I say this because it seems as though a lot of guides dumb things down, leaving me unable to troubleshoot when something is going wrong.
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction so I can boot the installer?
