Dear members of this awesome subbredit, Firstly i would like to thank the community for the content and the time put into the FAQ. With proper research of the compatible equipment, i was able to install Vanilia Mac Os in under 90 minutes for the first time. Im currently waiting for my Bluetooth/Wifi card to arrive, but other than the features of that everything works flawlessly. Sleep included. Graphics card and CPU coolers are all working as intended, they shut down on idle. Coming from a 2015 13" rMBP the difference is night and day in terms of performance. I am using the machine for fullstack webdev and dual booting Windows for gaming. I have used the FAQ here and this guide for BIOS settings and formatting the SSD through Disk Utility before installing https://hackintosher.com/builds/asrock-z370-extreme4-pro4-hackintosh-high-sierra-guide/ Full spec: Asrock Z370 Pro4 i5 8400 Sapphire RX 580 Special Edition toshiba xg5 512GB m2 pcie x4 (Mac OS) Samsung 512GB m2 SATA (Windows 10) Kingston HyperX KHX3000C15D4/8GX 2x8GB @ 3000mhz Coolermaster MWE Gold 550 Full Modular Feel free to ask questions, i would like to give back as much as I can. For people who are currently researching, the most important part imo is to find OOB supported Mobo chipset + Video card, this will save you from a lot of struggle, and also do not cheap out on the PSU, it is a critical part of a stable system (Cheap PSUs can cause problems due to not being able to provide stable voltages) I found a good list of them at: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1045610-new-psu-tier-list/ [link] [comments] |
