Can't seem to get this to work, what am I doing wrong?

ASUS Z97-E/USB3.1 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS GeForce GTX 960 STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54460 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-8GAB

I built this PC a few years ago, ready to create a hackintosh as a summer project, I read on several blogs of people using this motherboard and successfully using it for hackintosh.

So far I was able to create a bootable USB device however when I try to boot it up on the PC it would load the apple logo and have a kernal error.

Things I have tried to troubleshoot:

-removed video card and leaving only one stick of RAM.

Should I just change the motherboard and use everything else, would this make everything easier? The goal would be to use what I have instead of buying anything new. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
