I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (i5) running Mojave. I don't have any brightness-related kexts installed. Graphics acceleration is working.
After booting my laptop, my screen brightness will always be at 50% (I think, it's definitely somewhere in the middle). The brightness settings, however, show the screen brightness I had before rebooting. Attempting to adjust the brightness will update the setting, but nothing actually happens. If I go into sleep mode, and then wake the laptop, the screen brightness will change to what the setting shows, and adjusting it works normally.
Why does the brightness only change after sleeping? How can I fix this?
