New to this. Looking for a new laptop

Hey all!

So I'm looking for a new laptop, I'm currently using an Asus c302a Chromebook as I'm a cheapo student and only doing word processing. I want to start doing some music production and considering a MacBook Pro or a Dell XPS as I've read its Hackintoshable. If anyone has any advice or experience with a Hackintosh laptop and can recommend a good one to buy that'd be great.

ps. I'm still a cheapo student and would love a high performing laptop at a good price (i know, don't we all!)
