NUC8 won't wake after sleeping for a few hours?

I have this weird issue with my NUC8 where it won't wake at all after it's been asleep for a while. By "won't wake" I mean banging on the keyboard neither causes the fans to spin up or the power button to change from orange to blue. Worse, clicking the power button just turns the indicator off and places the machine into a weirder state where it's even less responsive, to the point where even holding down the power button doesn't force the machine off. I literally have to unplug the NUC from the wall to get the machine working again. This is obviously really inconvenient.

The issue appeared after I modified my SSDT files to add support for an internal USB controller (AirPort card). It was just a tiny patch to merge the USB patches from https://github.com/sarkrui/NUC8i7BEH-Hackintosh-Build/tree/master/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched into this one https://github.com/RehabMan/Intel-NUC-DSDT-Patch . I have to merge the two since the first has functional USB but no audio and the second has no internal USB but does have audio. I believe my patch is fine since bluetooth works correctly but I can't help but feel the two are connected.

Thoughts? My NUC works perfectly aside from this so I'm not sure where I went wrong.
