Hey guys for the few weeks i've been working on my first hackintosh.
i read many posts about intel hd 510 being the unsupported GPU, but i have managed to pull this hackintosh a little bit furthur . although i'm not going to tag this post a "success" because it's not achieveing full acceleration that it should. i just want this issue to come under your notice. it would be great if anyone put some light on the issue here it's just one issue, that i'm dealing with.
Let's get start from the specs:-
- intel i5 6402p @ 2.8ghz
(6th gen skylake). - intel 510 iGPU ( the issue that everyone refuse to talk bout)
- gigabyte H110m-H mobo
- 8gb ddr4 corsair veangence
I followed the opencore dortania's guide and was able to successfully boot into the system without any errors or issues and everything was working smooth and then i checked the vram it showed 1536 mb which it should. when i tried opening apps like PHOTOS and PREVIEW but it was unsuccesful bc they always gave THIS ERROR related to GPU. the point to be noted is that every thing else is running smooth only these two app aren't working.
Next thing i did was changing the Frambuffer values and changing the device id's. i tried many different frambuffer's (total count approximately 35). some of them were glitches artifacts and some of them gave a solid black dock color and sharp colors to the text as well a little bit laggy " but by doing so it always reduced the VRAM to only " 7mb " Though that's what it shows in "about mac" ...... BUT GUESS WHAAAT ! ! ! ? ?? PHOTOS AND preview worked like charm . AND then i found that the iMac 17,1 's default framebuffer is 19000000 , then i tried this framebuffer it worked better than other FB's but it also gives a solid black DOCK and sharp texts and again the same thing 7mb VRAM this is what i'm currntly using BC WITHOUT THIS XCODE PALYGROUND AND XCODE'S SIMULATORS DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING.
