Does Catalina run well on HDD?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of installing Hackintosh on my HDD, I want to use it on SSD but I have one for Windows, and 1TB HDD for personal files and now I am thinking of installing Catalina on 1TB HDD. The main point is, Is Hackintosh, especially Catalina fast enough on HDD, or I have to buy a new SSD and install it on that? Thank you and have a good day.
