So after a week of researching and trying I've hit a hard wall. I'm not the type to normally ask for help but being new I'm at a loss. So if anyone can please!
System was working fine under Mojave. Updated clover + kexts and launched updater from system preferences to a black screen.
Following Dortanias Guides I was finally able to get a working usb installer (OpenCore this time) to reinstall and still the black screen persists... worst yet I can't even access the hd via network anymore...
