I bricked my iMac twice with over-eager updating, is it safe now?

I must have misunderstood the issues that certain hardware has with certain version of the OS prior to OpenCore 1.4.3.

I have an iMac 17,3, meaning late 2015, 27", Radeon R9 M395X graphics.

Whenever I tried to boot Sonoma 14.4, it took forever to go past the login screen (auto login enabled), I barely could move the mouse cursor, could type maybe 2 characters per minute, then it logged me out again, endless cycle. Also in safe boot mode.

On OC 1.4.3, is it safe for me to update to 14.4.1? Running 14.2.1 right now without issues.
