Posting this question on OCLP as I could not find a fix with ExpressVPN technical support. Recapping the issue: I have done a clean install of macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 with Open Core Legacy Patcher 1.4.3 on my MacBook Pro 15 inch mid-2014 (MacBookPro11,3). Before the clean install it was running macOS Big Sur with ExpressVPN installed and working fine. With Sonoma 14.4.1 I cannot go beyond the startup window and cannot even activate the VPN as the application shuts down when I click on "Connection", prompting an error window from the OS that it shut down unexpectedly. I have spent hours with ExpressVPN technical support to reset the keychains, reinstall past and beta versions to no avail. No firewall nor antivirus is activated.
On a side note, my OCLP MacBook Pro mid-2009 with Monterey 12.7.4 can run ExpressVPN without any issue. Which is leading to my assumption that this is a software issue and potentially Sonoma/OCLP compatibility.
Has anyone experience this issue with a patched Mac and eventually found a way to make it work?
