Will opencore boot from a HFS+ formatted usb as long as it has the EFI files?

i'm trying to install tiger, but i'm unsure whether it will boot or not, i'm asking coz balena etcher doesn't let me install on a specific partition and minitool partition wizard doesn't detect the usb after i burned the image using balena etcher
