I noticed that aroud Sonoma, when upgrading my unsupported Macs with OCLP, booting usually became a PITA, failing / freezing most of the times. This usually is solved by formatting and reinstalling MacOS (I suspect something to do with the boot partition).
However, one of the machines is a work laptop that I postponed until now, and I just recently realised that Time Machine restoration is broken in Sequoia. As my work environment is a bit complex to set up from scratch, I really don't want to format the drive RN.
Is there another way to fix this?
